Hostess with the Mostess

My friends, Elijah and Emma, are in town and staying with us for the week so I haven't had a lot of opportunities for blogging. I'll be back on the scene in a few days. Stay tuned for pictures of our fun!

Yard Work

Time for a little summer landscaping. My plan is to single-handedly remove every single piece of mulch in this flowerbed... one... by... one.

Buddies

Nicholas, Brooks, and Averi are three of my best pals. Nicholas is three and very gentle with me. Mommy is hoping that he'll teach me his awesome manners. Brooks is one year old and my perfect size. He shares all of his toys and plays extra nice. Averi is the peanut of the bunch. She's only four months old and as cute as a button!

Generations of Love

My great-grandma Leveline had many, many talents and hobbies. She loved to bake wedding cakes, collect dolls, visit flea markets, make candy, and she always loved to spoil mommy with mcnuggets from McDonald's. She hand-made a very special gift for me before I even arrived. She crocheted a sweet bonnet, sweater, and booties. Although I won't get a chance to meet my great-grandma, I know her and all the love she gave through my Mimi and mommy. :)

Also Known as Creeping

Some of you may think of "cruising" as driving at a leisurely pace. Some of you may think of it as a term referring to a vacation aboard a large ship at sea. In my world, cruising is used to describe my way of getting around. I pull myself up, then cruise along the furniture.

Scraps

Sadie has taught me that if I sit as close as possible (or under) the table during dinner that I might catch some scraps.

Doesn't every baby have a picture of getting a bath in the kitchen sink?! I didn't want to be left out. :)

Beijing 2008

The Olympics offer a wide variety of sporting events including bad minton and table tennis. Tug-of-war was even an olympic sport until 1920. I'm thinking that a new event needs to be recognized by the Olympic Committee... speed crawling! If this ever becomes competitive, I'm definitely a contender.

Mommy's Home!

Mommy's getaway included soaking up sun at the pool, drinking mommy juice, and having a glorious time with her girlfriends. While she was away, Daddy and I filled up our time with much more practical things like a stop at Bass Pro Shops and Golf Galaxy. I also got acquainted with rock music as daddy jammed along to Guitar Hero on the Wii. I loved my father-daughter bonding time!

Back to the Beach

Mommy's packing her bags and getting ready for a trip to Naples, Florida with her girlfriends. I'm staying home with daddy and we are going to live it up mommy-free. Daddy's going to introduce me to Sportscenter and golf. Now if only I could get mommy to stop hugging me extra tight and gushing, "I'm going to miss you soooo much" all day long.

New Friends

Things that catch my attention: Elmo and Abby Cadabby. Abby Cadabby is new to Sesame Street and she is Elmo's best friend. I like her because she is pink and purple (much more girly than Elmo). On top of her cuteness, she talks when I press her tummy and calls me "punkin'". :)

Daddy helped me hack into the blog today as it's Mommy's Birthday and we wanted to tell her how much we loved her.

Daddy Love

Since I was on vacation and didn't get to blog about my daddy on Father's Day, I'm catching up now. It was very difficult to narrow down all of the reasons why my daddy is the BEST, but I've created a top five list.

Top five reasons my daddy is #1:

5. He makes me giggle like noone else can.

4. He wraps me super tight after my bath.

3. He makes mommy smile all the time.

2. He lets me pick out my own outfits for the day.

Red, White & Boom!

I hope your day is filled with sunshine, picnics, patriotism, festive t-shirts, sparklers, husker-dos, husker-don'ts, and quality time with family and friends. We are very sad to be missing Abe's Firework Extravaganza this year, but hope to catch it next year. :)

Funtoon

Mimi and Papa traded out the ski boat for a brand new pontoon. The new boat is perfect for cruising the shallow waters of Indian Lake. Good thing Jim and Louise were on hand to teach Mimi how to drive it. I loved being the captain's mate!

Eight Days a Week

On Sunday evening, we packed up a few toys, snacks, a sippy cup and Uncle Bryan to watch a Beatles tribute band that was performing at a local park. Although the band completely butchered (and barely resembled) a few of the Beatles classics, they were a spirited group of performers that encouraged crowd participation. I really loved clapping along to each of the tunes!

Newlyweds

Congratulations to Aunt Anna and Uncle Bryan on tying the knot!!! It was a beautiful celebration in Oxford. May 31st will always be a special day to remember!
