Short Hiatus

38 Years

My Great Aunt Sue is retiring from teaching after 38 years! Her staff and sixth graders are very sad to see her go. Our family is so proud of her. Congratulations, Great Aunt Sue, and we love you very much!

Hand-Mouth Coordination

My tank was running low this afternoon, so I browsed the pantry to find a good 'ole teething biscuit. Yummmmmy, yum, yum. Feeding myself... now that's going to definitely open up a whole new world of possibilities for me!

The Future is Bright and Clear

I've had my eye on some cute things at the mall, so I asked daddy for his American Express. Reluctantly, he obliged. During the hand-off, the card somehow fell to the ground just out of my reach. I saw my opportunity for shopping instantly go down the drain. Mommy called my reaction a little dramatic, I'll let you decide for yourself. :)

New Favorite Day

Almost a mommy...

Daddy and I spoiled mommy on her first Mother's Day. First, we treated her to a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes (her very favorite). Then, we surprised her with flowers and a gift certificate to pamper herself at Mitchell's Salon and Spa. Throughout the day, mommy's amazing friends were so thoughtful and sent special messages her way. Needless to say, she couldn't stop smiling and insisted that this is now her new favorite day of the year!

Upgrade

My daddy hooooked me up! I'm cruising these days in our new (gently used) hot rod. It's quite the upgrade from the Geo Metro that I kept hearing about. They must have been all sold out of those cause daddy brought home this pretty SUV instead. I love the view out of the back window as we zip around town!

Eating for Two

Don't get any ideas... mommy is NOT pregnant! I'm so excited to announce that I have a new baby cousin on the way. Aunt Cecilly and Uncle Doug have a bun in the oven. The stork is scheduled for a drop-off on November 7th. It will be a lot of fun to have a sidekick. I have big plans to show this baby the ropes.

Silent H

My first word is officially "hi". It sounds more like a very high-pitched "iiiii", but I've learned to use it for greetings. Sometimes I put a little pizazz into with a squeal!

As Bad As It Gets

Times are pretty rough around here as my top four teeth come in at the SAME TIME. I mean, geeesh, can't I catch a break with this teething thing?! A picture of my new teeth is completely out of the question because I will not allow anyone access to my mouth at this time. In fact, I've learned to smile while hiding my swollen gums and upper whitecaps.

Na-Na

This is my baby doll. Her name is Na-Na. I couldn't make up my mind on what to call her. It was a very tough choice between Na-Na or Ahhhh. She makes me soooo happy. I love to give her big, sloppy hugs and kisses. I light up every time my Na-Na is around!

Heinerschnitzel

Ummm did someone call a plumber? You could practically park a bike in there. I think that mommy needs to stop buying the low-rise pampers. :)

Note: Wearing your pants this low is never a good idea... even if ALL of your friends are doing it.

Rocky Top

Aunt Kari, pleeeeease don't go! Chattanooga is way too far. I'll miss you so much. Who's going to change my less-than-fresh diapers... who's going to meet me for lunch... who's going to push my stroller in the mall?! Sniff, sniff... I won't say goodbye, I'll say see ya later.

Supersydney can change the course of mighty rivers and bend steel with her bare hands. Even when disguised as Sydney Rebecca, mild-mannered 7 month old, she sets out to fight a never-ending battle for truth, justice and the American way!

Full Bloom

Spring is in full bloom. We planted tulips in the fall (I was just a few weeks old) and they've made a grand appearance this spring! Sorry my posts have begun to spread out... the warmer weather has been calling me to the great outdoors. :)

Time to Renew

It took a little extra effort, but I discovered a stash of catalogs and magazines. Now I'm hooked. I love wrinkling up the pages, looking at the pictures, and ripping out the ones that I just don't like. I guess mommy may want to take back that brand spankin' new toy cause I'd rather play with the always free, always fun catalog collection.

Milestone #86

Shhhh... don't tell... I've been able to sit up on my own for a few days, but it was much much funnier to keep that information confidential so that I could watch mommy and daddy's attempts to teach me! I think they were starting to be "on" to my little secret, so I finally gave in and showed off last night.

Hammer-time!

Mommy's wonderful friends, Mary and Ken, came in town today with their cutie-patootie Connor. While Ken and Mary headed down to the Reds game to live it up in the Diamond Club, Connor and I had a playdate. He was such a GOOD boy and knows all kinds of tricks! I wish I knew how to crawl, clap, walk, shake my booty, feed myself... all while holding on to a hammer. :)
