Houseguest

I invited a friend over to play for the week while his parents headed to the beach. His name is Murphy (I call him murr-eeee) and he was the perfect playmate! He didn't mind when I chased or hugged him. He let me repeatedly clean his head with baby wipes just for the fun of it. He didn't even tell on me when I gave his heiny a gentle whack knudge... now that's a good friend. Love you Murr-eeee.

Reunion

We went to daddy's family reunion on Sunday. Considering that mommy's family tops out at 13, it was fun to see such a big extended family. There must have been about 100 W's all in one place. My cousin Jayden and I spent the day running, playing, hugging, and high-fiving. A few people even thought we were twins!

Daddy's Girl

Things I love do with daddy:

- snuggle in the evening
- throw the ball
- play in my house
- help him with yard work
- hold on to his hands and swing/hang
- peek in his office during the afternoon to give him hugs
- read bedtime stories
- play in the sprinkler
- laugh and giggle

Little Fish

Next week will be my last swim lesson. I've become a little fish and learned how to jump in from the side, kick my legs, float on my back and splash my friends! I will miss going to the pool every Tuesday with Nicholas and Brooks, but I WILL NOT miss that "Ring Around the Rosie" song. Somehow, I ended up under water every time that song ended so it has earned the title of my least favorite rhyme. :)

Pony Up

Eight minutes, two snacks, and three toy distractions later, we were able to achieve the newest look in Sydney town... the ponytail!

Young Love

I haven't seen my Connor in awhile, but we caught up a few weeks ago for dinner. I missed him so much!!! He is the cutest and we really liked holding hands after we ate. :)

We're Home!

Our Big Canoe vacation was a lot of fun! Highlights of the trip: a visit to the aquarium, swimming every day, chasing the ruff-ruffs Broozer and Rita, playing DS with "Nemma", blowing bubbles with "Yi-jah", mommy spending time with one of her most special friends, fourth of July fireworks, making s'mores, and seeing many deer!

Babymoon #2

Watch out Big Canoe, here we come! Aunt Brooke's parents have generously invited us to stay in their GORGEOUS mountain home while they head out west for their own summer getaway. We can't wait for some rest, relaxation, and time with our best friends Brabe, Elijah, and Emma. There are lots of fun things to do in Big Canoe and this kiddie pool is high on my list!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Barb and Dick... you are the best!!!!

Daddy and mommy are big fans of the "sunday drive". They don't plan the destination, they just pack up the car for the afternoon and head out of town. It's fun to check out new places! A recent cruise landed us in Oxford. After grubbing at a local hotspot, we found this fountain in the center of town to be the perfect spot for some cooling down. :)

Wings of Wonder

I've never seen so many "fliiiiiies" before! The butterfly show was so cool. There were thousands of beautiful butterflies gliding all around me. As one landed on mommy's hand, I tried to pluck it's wings gently touch it, but she quickly moved it out of reach.

Chocolate with Sprinkles

After a cookout at No-mah's (translation: grandma's), she kindly treated my sweet tooth to The Cone. My ice cream was scrumptious and the rides were a major hit too. Thanks, No-mah!

School's Out for Summer!

School being out for the summer means many things to me... sleeping in, breakfast in mommy's bed, play dates with friends, long morning walks, afternoon shopping, more frequent blogging, and a Water Tots class with my good friend, Brooks!

Zoo Babies

A few weekends ago, we ventured down the zoo to check out all of the zoo babies. It was a gorgeous day and we had a lot of fun. Our afternoon was topped off with some chocolate dippin' dots. Animals, sight-seeing, ice cream: the perfect day.

the sand and water table! Special note: Sydney was wearing clothes when she began playing at the water table... we only took them off after she soaked herself from head to toe. Oh, and she insisted that we keep her socks and crocs on.
